GLOBAL WARMING: THE CLIMATE’S RIPE FOR CHANGE

Among the mitigation measures are lifestyle changes and more efficient and less wasteful use of water and energy. But change must be deep and far-reaching, with particular focus on relatively poorer communities numbering hundreds of millions around the planet who have contributed little or nothing vulnerable to its consequences. Scientists have been warning of global warming for at least two decades, but reports of changes in nature indicating shifting temperatures ere largely treated by the media as freak events. In South-east asia, the annual smoke haze from forest fires in Indonesia has brought the challenge of trans-boundary environmental disaster literally into ordinary people’s homes in recent years.
